Mother & Baby Product Safety
General guidance to help you use baby products more safely while always following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Effective from:
1. Follow manufacturer instructions first
ShooBaby images and descriptions help with product selection but do not replace the original label, user manual, or supplied warnings. Follow the manufacturer’s age, weight, assembly, use, and cleaning instructions.
2. Appropriate supervision
Many children’s products require adult supervision. Do not leave a child unattended where supervision is required, and keep packaging, small parts, and plastic bags away from children.
3. Age, weight, and developmental stage
Choose products based on manufacturer guidance, not age alone. Some products have weight, height, or developmental limits that must be observed.
4. Inspect before use
- Check for cracks, loose parts, sharp edges, or missing components.
- Do not use a damaged product or one modified in an unauthorised way.
- Stop use if a safety issue appears and contact us or the manufacturer as appropriate.
5. Feeding and personal-care products
Follow the cleaning, sterilisation, storage, and expiry instructions on the product. If a child has an allergy or medical condition, consult a qualified health professional before using a product that may affect it.
6. Recalls or safety defects
If we become aware of a material safety defect in a product sold through ShooBaby, we will handle it according to applicable legal obligations and appropriate procedures and may contact affected customers where order information is available.
If you believe a product presents a safety risk, stop using it and contact us immediately with the order number, photos, and batch/lot details where available.
7. Medical information
ShooBaby is a retailer, not a healthcare provider. Educational content on the website does not diagnose a condition and does not replace advice from a doctor, pharmacist, or qualified professional.
